I have scored the most in the Interpersonal skill that is because I feel like I can get more work done in a group and I have always thought myself as shy as well but when I first tried it, it worked fine and I actually enjoyed it cause we can ask for help and receive it at the same place, however putting yourself in a group can give you experience on how they feel and how to handle conflicts too.

Part 2: Leadership Reflection
Question 1:
The two leader I admire the most are serena Williams and my older brother Khaled, my brother Khaled is older than me by 9 years, he always guided me throughout my life, I watched him go through some rough times and it amazed me on how he handled it so gracefully. Question 2:
I used to work in school I used to take care of the children there and i felt like a leader there and I am going to be focusing on this leadership position, so I can explain what I have learned from being a leader.

First, being a leader at the school has taught me many skills, the first one was management this is because I had to take care of the children there and I am responsible for them all day. I had to insure all their activities had been planned before time and they should be executed to perfection in addition to that we talk to them tell them what type of activities they would like to do in the day after, and when they are being moved they time matters so they should move fast. Doing these things teaches the person how to keep on pushing and keep being the best leader that he can be.

Leading in general has taught me a lot, like the importance of listening and giving your followers a chance to be part of your leadership process. Getting input from your followers is important, because they can give you feed back on how to improve and it will help you accomplish your goals easily. Leadership is a race and in races you need a team and inside that team people should be well led in order to win that race. Lastly, I was taught the importance of my emotion as well as the emotion of the others, this helps also if a conflict arises you can find and provide the best solution to the conflict.

In the other hand being a follower has taught me skills for example: loyalty, being loyal to your team in addition to loyalty, courage was one of the skills too, I used to question the leader if he was doing something wrong in my eyes and our leader used to say you are not a follower you are a leader in training which really was encouraging to us, our leader used to say you are a leader if you put the team first because the group is like an engine, it wouldn’t function at all without all the parts of it. Therefore, putting your weight in the group really helps the group achieve their goals.

Question 3:
From the traits that we learned, the most two traits that I value are integrity and determination. I would want to be the type of leader that leads my followers with these traits.” Leaders with integrity inspire confidence in others because they can be trusted to do what they say they are going to do”. (Northouse). I value integrity this is because I would want to be the leader that can my follower depend on me, if I was a follower I would want a leader that values integrity to be my leader. I also would like to be the leader not only leads through what they say they are going to do, but also, I want to leader through determination because I value it a lot, I want my followers to keep fighting even if there is obstacle at work, I want them to see the true importance of perseverance because leaders value these traits a lot.

Leadership Styles is important too, I would lead with democratic leader mainly because the idea of the leader and the follower working or involving themselves together is amazing. I want my followers to feel free and not under constant supervision, I want my followers to know they have opinions and as group we share the same vision. I really believe in this type of leadership because it empowers the followers, in addition to that when followers are empowered goals are reached. Using democratic style is awesome that is because it gives you options on both task oriented and relationship oriented. I can care about the emotions and well being of my followers as well as the goals the team is trying to reach, and this makes the workplace more productive leading through task and relationship oriented.

Question 4:
In this course I have learned that leadership can be learned, and people are not born leaders it is something that you develop through learning and all can become leaders because we have the ability to learn it. Before taking this course I never thought I can become a leader and that is because from what I have known leaders are born in addition to that I thought it was not in me and one of the problems also I have never considered myself as a leader. After taking this course all my perspective about leadership have changed that is because I understood what leadership meant, now I can definitely say I am a leader that is because leaders inspire others to become better, nobody needs to be a singer, president or actor to inspire other, something as little as an Instagram page and having followers on it that you inspire and influence them to become better people can make you a leader. I started thinking about my past experience and I have realized that at some moments I have been a leader, for example: I have an Instagram page where i share inspirational pictures and quotes in addition to that I sometimes get some messages from my followers saying that my page has inspired me to become a better person and work on my dreams more and I am actually have that my page has inspired them, I didn’t think a lot about it because I was just trying to help, however after taking leadership foundation course, I can now definitely say I am a leader that is because I have inspired many people and I still am trying to influence many more people hopefully to become a better version of themselves.

This course has taught me to adapt as well because when you consider yourself a leader you need to have many skills and adaptability is affective in leadership and its because there will always be challenges in life. But however, a good leader will be able to adjust to those challenges and try to identify the problem and find many solutions for the problem then choosing the best solution to the problem. Lastly this course has taught me the importance of teamwork in leadership, for me I usually like working on things myself and ask help from others when I need it, as the saying: “Two heads are better than one” and if you someone needs to go far places he should have a team to have his back if he needs help because that’s what the team is for helping each other.
