The rationale for this paper was to do a study of normal motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity of the radial nerve in young medical students aged 17-20 years old. This study was done using surface electrodes. The electrodes were added to a solution to add good conduction. The reference surface electrode was placed over the wrist area and the other electrode was placed between active and stimulating electrode. Stimulation was given at the elbow and at the space in the triceps muscles. The motor nerve conduction velocity was calculated from first and second stimulation point and the sensory nerve conduction velocity was calculated using the active ring electrode. The nerve was then stimulated.
