The U.S. was known as the promised land for immigrants, a place where they were certain to find great happiness. The U.S accepted thousands of immigrants from all over the world to settle in America. However, when the U.S economy grew stronger, and more immigrants started to come into the U.S in search of a better life, jobs started becoming more scarce. Under the circumstances, the U.S. government felt the need to create the Immigration Restriction law which set a quota for how many foreigners could migrate into America.. Meaning that throughout the course of American History we as American people needed a change.
